Highlights

Highlights from the FOBBV YouTube Team: ⬇️ 4/1 * The Big Bear Nest Diaries: Happy April Fools Day! 🎉 The morning was cloudy ☁️ and foggy yet peaceful. First shift change came at 7:23 and was seamless as usual. Jackie got her break and Shadow took over with his Daddy Duties incubating their eggs 🪺 and doing egg rolls so carefully. The afternoon continued to be calm with a couple nest materials delivered.Tonight Shadow left at 19:14 for his last shift. Jackie adjusted the sticks, while incubating. 🌙 Roost Snug Jackie & Shadow, we love you! ♥️ * Quiet Moments: Shadow arrived to gently relieve Jackie, offering her a well-earned break from the nest, he carefully spread the soft fluff 🌿 Jackie had brought in, ensuring their precious eggs remained warm and protected. Shadow remained ever watchful, his eyes scanning the surroundings, standing guard over both the nest and the life it holds. 💗 * Daily Fun Fact: 🐣”EGG TOOTH” As an eaglet develops inside the egg a very useful egg tooth also develops on their upper beak. They use this egg tooth to first break a small hole into the air cell, located at the blunt end of the inside of the egg, this is called internal pip. This allows them to take their first breath. After a while they then use their egg tooth, and strength to make the first crack into the egg shell, an external pip. Next with a few breaks in between the eaglet rotates inside the egg as it uses its egg tooth to zip along and continue to break the egg in a circular motion. This can take 24 to 48 hours from the first break in the egg (pip). 🐥 Once hatched the egg tooth will fall off or is worn off in the next few days, or perhaps even weeks later. 🪶 * Daddy Duties: Shadow had 4 nest 🪺 visits, 13 incubation sessions, 17 egg rolls. Total nest time for Shadow was 5 hours, 17 min. Bringing 0 fish to his Queen Jackie. 🐟 📊 Today’s Tallies: 💠Egg Rolls: 32 💠Jackie (J): 18 hours, 46 min in nest, 1 fluff 💠Shadow (S): 5 hours, 17 min in nest, 1 stick, 1 fluff *only a few events-of-interest are listed
