Highlights from the FOBBV YouTube Team: ⬇️ 4/6 * The Big Bear Nest Diaries: This morning, joy filled the air as we watched the two beautiful chicks being fed by Jackie. Shadow flew to the Cactus Snag at 6:16. At 6:57 both chicks got bites as Jackie fed them. Throughout the day both Jackie and Shadow feed the chicks 🐥, and also keep brooding. They have been filling up the pantry a bit more today too. 🐟 Shadow brought dinner fish at 19:01, Jackie put it aside and fed the chicks some leftovers. 🌙 Roost Snug Jackie & Shadow, we love you! ♥️ * Quiet Moments: Quiet Moments: A quiet tender moment on the nest today as Jackie and Shadow share in tandem feeding their two precious chicks. Each movement is gentle and full of care, the chicks eagerly receiving every bite. In a sweet moment, Jackie even feeds Shadow such a small gesture that speaks volumes. Overall, both chicks are thriving, eating well, and growing stronger with each passing day 🐥🐥 * Daily Fun Fact: CHICKS🐥Thermal Down: Eaglets undergo a rapid and complex feather-growing process to transform from tiny “fluff balls” into powerful raptors 🦅 in just 10 to 12 weeks. Natal down, eaglets 🐣 hatch with a thin, silky layer of white “natal” down that helps them dry off but offers little warmth. Thermal Down comes in around day 10, a thicker, darker gray “thermal” down begins to cover them. This dense layer provided the insulation they needed to regulate their own body temperature, as long as they are dry. 🪶 * Daddy Duties: Shadow had nest 7🪺 visits. Total nest time for Shadow was 5 hours, 36 min.
