* The Big Bear Nest Diaries: Luna and Sandy were in charge of the nest last night, and Luna spent some time perched and tucked.😍 The beautiful sunrise 🌞 shined down this morning over the nest, while the chicks did some preening, winger-cizing, jumps, resting and nestoration! At 9:57 Shadow delivered a stick with some pine needles. Then soon left and headed out to Simba🌲Tree!. Sandy was observed doing a RER(rear end Rub) at 12:22. Jackie came in at 13:33 stayed in the nest for a while then headed out at 16:40. Shadow came back with the first fish of the day at 13:44, and second one at 17:34. Sandy and Luna were busy utilizing the wind doing winger-cizes and being adorable 🥰, most of the day was calm! Shadow stopped in this evening with a stick at 20:12! Sandy and Luna then got the 😁 zoomies”. 🌙Roost snug Jackie & Shadow, Luna and Sandy, We love you! ♥️
* Quiet Moments: As the sun ☀️ rose over Big Bear this morning, Jackie spent a peaceful morning perched on Cactus Snag, quietly taking in the beauty of the sunrise and watching over her family until around 10 am. Meanwhile , back at the nest, Sandy and Luna were doing well, keeping busy with wingercize, flapping their wings and preparing for the adventures that were waiting ahead. ♥️
* Daily Fun Fact: “KLEPTO” 🥷Kleptoparasitism: young Eagles 🦅 are “wired” to follow larger adults eagles, as this behavior originally ensured their survival with their parents. They may continue this behavior with any adult until they develop enough skills to hunt independently. Juveniles learn to hunt by trial & error, guided by instinct. During the first year they primarily scavenge & steal from others while developing flight skills needed to catch prey. 🪶
* Daddy Duties: Shadow had 4 nest 🪺 visits. Total nest time for Shadow was 0 hours, 5 min. Bringing 2 fish to His Chicks and Queen Jackie. 🐟
* Munchies and Mutes: Jackie and Shadow served 0 feedings. Luna and Sandy partook in 😋 self-feeding . Full crops were observed on both chicks. 31+ PS🐥(Poop Shots) were sliced, 0 were on 🎯!!
