* The Big Bear Nest Diaries: Jackie and Shadow started their day on the Lookout Snag 🌲 at 5:15. Sandy and Luna almost copied their positions from their own personal lookout – the Back Porch. Starting around 10:06 Luna does many wingers 🪽 while on that Back Porch too. In the afternoon, both Luna and Sandy do some begging calls 🎶 at 16:23. During chat tonight at 18:30, Luna nibbled at the camera a few times while going further out on the Back Porch. 😂 Dinner 🐟 was served at 19:09 and quickly eaten by both chicks. 🌙 Roost Snug Jackie & Shadow, Luna and Sandy, we love you! ♥️
* Quiet Moments: Almost as if they knew there was an entire live audience watching, Sandy and Luna unlocked a new level of cuteness 🥹 during chat this evening. Starting around 18:11, the chicks first started mirroring each other with their adorable head tilts and beaky 😘 kisses. Luna then moved on to nibbling at the camera 🎥and giving us some spectacular close-ups, while Sandy watched from his side. Eventually, Sandy moved on to her evening winger-cizes while Luna preened. Sandy and Luna never cease to entertain us with their personalities! ♥️
* Daily Fun Fact: 💧” WATER” Besides being where fish live, a source of food for Eagles, Eagles also take baths in shallow water, use it to cool off, and occasionally drink. For the most part though, Eagles get the majority of their hydration from their diet. Fresh prey, such as fish 🐟 and small mammals, contain significant amounts of moisture. When an eagle consumes raw meat, organs, and blood, they are essentially eating and drinking at the same time. Their digestive tract is highly efficient at extracting every single molecule of moisture from the tissues of their prey during digestion. 🪶
* Daddy Duties: Shadow had 2 nest 🪺 visits. Total nest time for Shadow was 0 hours, 17 min. Bringing 2 fish to His Chicks and Queen Jackie. 🐟
* Munchies and Mutes: Jackie and Shadow served 0 feedings. Luna and Sandy partook in 😋 self-feeding . Full crops were observed on both chicks. 30+ PS🐥(Poop Shots) were sliced, 0 were on 🎯!!
